Lights how much is enough.

Hi fish fans I have a 150 gallon tall Aquarium I want to grow carpeting plants and I was wondering how many T5 high output light bulbs I'll need at 5000 Kelvin cuz right now I am building my own lights so I can adjust them larger or smaller I was thinking about putting 8 light bulbs in the fixture because I wanted medium lighting
