I will make u a promise when i get there i will. i am moving there in a year from now with my fam. i'm in indy right now. i put denver as my address cuz thats where my hearts always belonged. Living there i'm sure you understand brother.
Yeah I need to at least post some pics up of my setup. It's pretty new so waiting for my tank to cycle, get more fish, and for my plants to grow. Yeah it's nice to have people by that do the same hobby. Where exactly in arvada are you? i'm around 88th and Wadsworth.
well there's three. it depends on what i need. pet world(10th n wads) they have a small selection of fish not alot of exotic fish but super cheap fish(fish club 20% off and sec tues of the month buy1 get 1) though i trust there quality its not the best. they quarentine for 2 weeks but with freshwtr this usually means their supplier is low quality. but i truly think its fine iv never had a problem, if i can buy a fish there i will. poor plant selection most arn't real aquatics. but there not a true fish store so i understand. there staff is so/so but better than petco etc. then if i need plants i go to aquatic imports in boulder. i think there the typical fish shop but not super high quality. but they pretty much only have exotic plants so thats usually where i go for plants. and they have a huge selection of equipment so i go there for that too + used stuff: tanks, lights, etc. i think there cheaper for equip than pet world but can't remember. also id go there for chiclids they got a big selection of them. the staff is typical fish staff bout as knowledgeble as pet world but more passinote.
but my favorite is neptunes tropical fish( I-470 n University) They are the best, best quality fish, best variety, and most knowledgable staff, they even have a fish doctor. there store is clean and nice. i know fish but they seem to always come up with some type thats way cool that i haven't heard of. actually if they had the chiclid i was looking for id get him there. the only problem is they have a small selection of plants but better than pet world. also they have little to no equip and the equip is a more expensive. but if i can't get the fish at petworld or is an exotic then i get it at neptunes. and there staff is freaken awsome super super knowledgable and cool. i'v sat and had long conversations with the guys in there. just be aware that on the weekends it can be busy and hard to get help so call first and ask if there busy or going to be, so you can hang out and chat with the staff. just don't bother them from their work. neptunes is a true fish store if they don't no one else has it they might. i don't shop at petco, petsmart, etc cuz its the worst quality stuff and their staff is usually retarded. now i do have across the street from me that iv gone too cuz i needed something at 9 at night. but you should support your local fish store so they can get rare and good quality stuff. however i usually buy equipment online if im buying like more than 50 bucks worth just cuz its so cheaper. but remember theres three things that piss off fish stores 1 tapping on the tank. 2 taking up all their time. 3 getting alot of knowledge from them and then buying all your stuff online. but on number i don't worry about too much its just like if you only go to there store for info and never buy anything. but iv been to probably all the fish stores in denver metro and these three are what i think are the best. U?
Life sure has been crazy hasn't it... And yes, I am the one who asked where you live. I admit it. LoL. Nothing's really going on, that's important anyway i'm in school. It's boring... Don't know if you are but that would be great to know. I hope someday I can get 1,000,000 fish tanks... But with maybe not that many 0's. Life is okay. I'm rolling good. It's getting kinda boring doing the same routine every day though. My tank has no fish as of now, but i'll keep you updated if you want.
Tristan - well you got plants in there? yeah im in school too. fun but tedious. ofcourse dude you gotta keep me updated your tanks. how else am i gunna know when you trim your plants so that i can get your throw aways and vise versa. but y no fish im kinda sorta jelous. 92nd and sheridan
Yeah i got eco in my 10g it actually seems to kick but does way better than my stupid onyx sand in my 30g. it was crystal clear from day one and don't have a lot of dirt in my filter. looks cool. my favorite thing though is that you don't have to rinse it like others. i %#&*$ hate rinsing flourite, etc. my only worries about the eco is that it looks like it might be kinda sharp, like for cories and stuff. haven't tried it with cories. it looks like lava rock, but maybe the holes in the rocks are too small to do damage to cories.
I have no fish because I'm trying to plan my tank and get all the plants i want before I get fish, to give less stress on them, and to me... And, I have two plants i want to get rid of... an amazon sword and a crypt. They're really healthy and about 8 inches tall but, sadly I just don't have the room for them. And sorry for not keeping you updated. Even if I did, I am too young to be trading plants with you... Sorry. I can't trade stuff, with "older, kids/people." So i cannot give you any plants.
Thanks man, I did do well on the rock! I need to put a pic of it up Dustin hooked it up! West slope is sweet man I love it out here. Next time I head up to denver I'll prob hit ya up for some good stores up that way since I can't seem to find any cory cats out here!
