If you lived in Michigan i could hook you up with an amazing LFS store i know about in lansing michigan that has the red rainbows. Its called preuss pets at www.preusspets.com and maybe they could ship one to you but i dont know. I think they call the mellium red rainbowfish or something like that. But i have seen them there when i make the 45 minute trip and they are aswome.

I saw a video of yours from a while ago when you talked about using the cheap pink colored bulbs from home depot, then a newer video when you swapped all your bulbs out this year for the expensive ones from the pet store. Other places talk about using 6500K bulbs, but is the red end of the spectrum more or equally important? The more I read, the more I feel like I'm taking a final exam in physics. What is the cheapest setup I can get by with my twin t8 strip light for my 55 gallon? Am I wasting money by using lightbulbs from Lowe's because they may not give of enough of the right kind of light?
