I just converted my 30 gallon to dirt the other day but now after adding water it's really cloudy. I've had problems with cloudy water before but cleared it up with some ACCU-CLEAR pretty easily. This time though the water is really cloudy and has a dark brown tint to it. Help

Water changes will clear it up. I did 50% every other day for a week and my tank was clear.good luck!

a good water change and filter will help. brown water is tanning.

Add some purigen to your filter and do daily water changes. It'll clear up in about a week.

I think people are disturbing the dirt too much when filling. I've dirted a tank twice and never had cloudy water for more than a few hours.

nope, the problem lie in soaking the dirt

Is it still cloudy? Sounds like my laterite problem if its still an issues after several water changes and some settling period. What kind of dirt did you use?

The laterite I added to my tank had a lot of fine particles in it which leeches out through the top layer of gravel I have to hold it down causing a browning of the water. After 12 months I still get a tinge of yellow/brown.

I used the mirical Gro organic soil.
