Hey everybody my name is Landyn and im a new member. I need some help trying to figure out why my 12 Serpaes seem to hate each other and never school around the tank. I have them in my 55gal non planted along with some pristellas, black neons, rasbora harlequins. The Serpaes all spread out around the tank evenly and just chill doin there own thing.... could I have too many other fish in the tank???

some fish no matter what would not school tightly...no matter who many u buy...even with my neons..

i have about 11 but they would spread into two groups and across the tank..

I understand what you mean....but my serpaes dont even split into groups... they just all find there own spots and defend them if another serpae gets close. Like they all hate each other.

Not new to the hobby just new to the site

idk i know that small tanks cause schools to spread out but i think a 55 is fine. i had a school of head/tail light tetras that did the same thing, but i noticed over time they did it less and less. they eventually went back to the pet store because they were starving my other fish. so im not sure if they were just getting used to the tank

i think i had them about 2 weeks

well actually it i had them 3 weeks and didn't see any change up until the later part of week 3
Good call guys! That makes alot of sense. I will have to try that then. Thank you!
