Hey guys,
im thinking of doing a 4 gallon shrimp tank that will be heavily planted with small species. im going to try driting it as well, not sure how itll work out in such a small tank. Im living in a university residence and have next to no room and since i miss my tank at home i want to set up a nano tank.

but my main questions is what kind of good plant growing lighting systems are available for a tank of that size.
Id like to know about the options that are out there.

thanks

What kind of plants are you planing to use low light plants or high light plants ?

low light probably. im looking for about 2-3 watts per gallon. ill probably plant dwarf sag, trident java fern and maybe dwarf baby tears

I think that you probably could buy some 18" t5 from home depot that might work for you?

18" ?  its a 4 gallon tank...

Oh i mean 18" t5 light
Get a clip on light and use a compact fluorescent bulb maybee even 2 and ull be able to grow anything. I got 2 of them on my 3G tank and I'm growing a carpet of "DWARF" baby tears

happy to hear your doing this. since there arent many option of the market, i was thinking of just making a system myself just like youve done.

thanks
