So I bought a 40 Gallon aquarium. I am wondering what community fish and plants I should put in it. I was thinking of a Black Veil Angel or a German Blue Ram/Bolivian Ram for a centerpiece. I would need suggestions for plants and fish, again. Thanks! (Note: I will cycle for a month or two.)

Harlequin Rasboras are beautiful and they're really good to have with German blue rams! Are you planning on having a planted tank?

Yes I am planning on a planted tank. I like the Harlequin idea, but I am not sure yet.

well pick your fish then you can work in a habitat for them and that will tell you what type of plants you should get. angels and rams like some space to be open for swimming. so have a low ground plant for that area like dwarf sag is an easy one. then have an area they can retreat to and feel safe like an area of tall plants like jungle val or crypt spiralis one of my new favorites. give more info on the tank and the maintenance you want to be doing dirt? ferts? co2? lighting? filtration? media? all this adds or subtracts what you can successfully grow in your new tank hope this helps
