5-10gallon lighting help

Hey fishtank people

Just starting the process of cleaning out my tank 9 gallon tank to start up.

I plan on dirting it this week and have it up running. I have a 38 gallon and i am wanting to start this mini tank up to hold extra plants etc. Kinda like a mini planted tank.

The only think i am worried about is lighting for it. I have a lighting fixture that is a t-12 20watts, cool white.

Would this work on the tank?

okay so most plants will do okay with it?

Could i go out and buy a 24" bulb like a t8 or t5 

Would i be able to use it with the same lighting fixture just swap bulbs

I see that you mostly have old t12 light bulb..

 

go out to pet shop and get a T8 light bulb....this is much better than your old T12.
