I'm digging a hole in my backyard tomorrow for a small pond. I hope I don,t sound to cheap or crazy but I'm using an old billborad canvass as an underliner, It's really thick. I thought I'd use a brown tarp as the main liner. The brown tarps are supposed to be thicker than the blue tarps.

I hope you know what I'm talking about with the brown and blue tarps. This pond is just for this summer. I'm going to build a real pond with a real liner throughout the summer. But Thats a different project.

I'm using gold fish that are a little over a year old and plan on giving them about a 4'x3'x3' oval shaped hole to swim in. I will be using this pond as an aquaponics experiment.

Ima start a small pond in the back yard and juvwondering what types of plants do u have in it

I haven't  even started my pond yet. Tomorrow. But in the pond, I will try some type of water lilly and also some sort of plant that the roots are in the water but the foliage sticks out of the water.

I will build a grow bed that is 1' deep and I don't know the width or length yet. It will be filled with hydroton. The water from the pond will get pumped into the grow bed and gravity will return it to the pond. The hydrton acts as a filter trapping the very nutritional fish waste. The plants in the grow bed will be vegetables and they love fish waste.

I will be sure to get photos of the process.
