adding dirt to a already full tank?

so heres my dilemna my tanks is already full with clay and sand some plants and fish.

but i want dirt and cant take down the tank is there anyway i can dirt a tank thats full without screwing up the fish or anything

or are theyre other alternatives to dirt

maybe mud??

do i just leave the filter in there or when do i take that out?

I dirted my tank after it was set up...

I purchased several "totes" and drained all of the water into my totes to be used later...

I then pulled out everything from my tank, dirt/clay/capped...

Slowly filled it up w/ water and drained/filled 3x.

Finally I added my plants, driftwood, rocks etc., drained low again, added old water and fist. Didn't lose a fish
