ok so I took a water sample to my local pet store and they said I had some nitrates in my water which could be the cause of my algae outbreak. Since then I have done 4 water changes and I scraped the algae off. The Algae has started to come back, slow, but is coming back. I was just curious if there was any other way to figure out what is causing this. my light period was 8 hours I lowered it to 6. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is it just glass algae or algae on plants or driftwoord. What kind of algae

it is mostly glass algae, but looks like there is a little bit some plants. I think its green algae

That algae is from low phosphates or too much light. It grows on my aquarium glass also but i just scrape once a month so its not soo bad

So do you think if I added phosphates I would start to see a decrease?

U can try it see if it does n e thing to help tour algae problem if not add some floating plants to take up some light . GL. Post how it turns out

Thanks for the advice. I will let you know how it goes
