I have a 30 gallon planted tank. T5 lamps. About 7 fish and four bottom feeder Cats. All live plants and subtrate and drift wood. And most recently after adding java moss my drift wood filters and plants have gained these small fluffy hard to remove algey blooms. PleaaaasPleaaaasr help. I hate to have to remove everything as they are still establishing. Any idea how to kill this pest. Currently I use weekely treatments of leaf zone as well as for algey marineland algey treatment every three days. What can I can do? I'm a new and slowly learning fish tank hobbiest. 5 years 1 year all real plants

Try to identify the algae, some can be cleared up simply with less light, more water changes, or increased water flow.  Sounds like beard algae, but again, try to identify it.  If it is beard algae removal isn't quite so easy.

Jennifer,

It indeed was black beard. Removeing sucked. I had to boil and leave out of the tank the wood it took over. Since then all is clear. Thanks again
