Amazon swords

So a friend of mine told me that if u cut off a healthy amazon sword leaf and float it, it'll eventually grow roots and u cam replant it. I just think the leaf will die. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is true or not. Thnx

you have to separate by the roots

This will only work on stem plants like ludwiga, wisteria, etc....amazon sword let go runners or (if left emerged) put out seeds
