Hey everyone, Im setting up a 55 gallon tank for a planted aquarium.  Its dirted with a gravel substrate on top.  After dirting it I did about 10 water changes to make sure the water was clear and the dirt was compacted under the substrate.  To kickstart the cycling process I through a couple goldfish in the tank thinking it would help cycle, but its only been worse.  My tank has been cloudy now.

I was just wondering what I should do to cycle the tank correctly before I start planting.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

Hey if u have other tanks I put the filters on the new tank and I also add some zebra danios there great cycle fish

If you dirted the tank plant the "Shit" out of it now!!! (As Dustin Says) this will help clear up the nutrient overload from the soil adding java moss or duckweed also helps alot.

I just set up mine 4 days ago and did this and have had no cloudy water at all. Added 3 guinea pid guppies today.
