hey folks, I have been enjoying the chat section of fishtanktv.com, decided it was time I added a forum post. I have a pair of rosy barbs which have been breeding for the last year. I decided finally I would try my luck at hatching some out.
I noticed the female was gravid about a week ago, so I scoop her and her mate out of the big tank. I placed them into a 20 gal planted. I did a water change to stimulate the rainy season, and the next morning there were busy laying eggs all over in the various plants. once I noticed the action slowing down and the fish cruising around looking for food, I scooped them out. now a few days later I can see several fry attatched to plants and glass, I can also see about 3 or 4 free swimming fry.
I am planning on using som epowdered flake food since I do not currently have a food special for fry. any body got any advice on getting as many of these fry into the fish world. I want s many to remain as I possibly can.
