So i have had this 40 gallon planted aquarium up and running for a month and a half. Its got 5 serpae tetras, 6 Rosy Barbs, and one Dwarf Gourami. I have Amazon swords, crypts, Java Fern and Dwarf hair grass. The serpaes were the first in the tank and never bothered with the DHG. Then I added 6 Rosy barbs a few days ago and every time i check on the tank i see one or two munching on the DHG!!! they rip it up out of the ground when it is a fairly new plant to the tank and still hasn't developed a strong root system. I feed my fish once a day. 1-2 flakes and 1-2 pellets of New Life Spectrum per fish per day. This helps keep my nitrates/nitrites/ammonia down. I have kept fish with just one flake per day for years. What should i do about these barbs? I dont really want to feed em any more but its a low stalked tank so it might be able to handle it. Any Ideas??

Thanks!
