Will boiling driftwood remove tannin from the wood? How long do I need to boil it? Is there a better method to get the tannin out?

Thanks

Boiling will work. I boiled my small driftwood 3 to 4 times for about 25 min. Each time. Just keep boiling it with fresh water until the water stays clear. For larger pieces I submerged the wood in a large plastic tub, weighing it down with a heavy rock, and doing water changes until the water was clear. Hope that helps
Ditto info
i have video explaining this
ya but u have to boil it for atleast an hour it also helps if u put it on the dishwasher with soap i ran my dw throw the dishwasher 3 times in a row with out letting them dry and it hasen leeched at all and its been soaking for almost a month now
Yea I would fill up a bucket of boiling water with my wood in it, let it sit for a week, then dump it all out, and fill it back up with boiling water.  I did that for like 6 weeks I think.  I would have stopped at 4 weeks, but I wasnt ready to set the tank up yet, so I did it for another 2 weeks.
I put my malaysian drift wood in a turkey pot and boiled it on top of my stove ... If your going to do it put the drift wood in a big enough pot that you can submerge it .... Now boil keep a close eye on the color of the wood and the color of the water doing water changes everytime you think the water has enough color.... The amount of time it takes you is totally up to you ..... Drift wood does change color  so don't over cook it .... Boiling does have it's benefits it helps water log your wood ,kills anything living in your wood , and takes color out faster , so in my opinion boiling drift wood is a good idea :)
I always boil drift wood, the color is hard to get rid of. I boiled my last ones for about 3 hours last time I had to change the water about 4 times. The color still bled into my tank water after some water changes it goes away completly.
I put my boglog in the sink and let it soak in boiling water (changing the boiling water as often as I could when it was cool) for 4 days. It's been in my tank now for over 2 months with 0 change in the color of my water.
@vince it will,i just soaked all of mine and each time hit em with a few drops of water conditioner and did water changes until it clears,i done it cuz i got it from a pet store and a creek behind my house...works great for lowering ph levels...but it sucks that it will tint the water,i learned the hard way by just droping it in,so i thought of that and it works, also to speed up the process keep the water moving in whatever tub or bucket ur using with a powerhead..
you could potentially be boiling it for 2 weeks like i had to do. i boiled mine like every other day for 2 weeks and i would boil it for hours on end and it seemed to be working until i rushed it and put the wood into my tank early. Dont rush it, and boil it as much as you can, when your not boiling it just let it sit in water. but boiling it is the fastest way to get the tannins out. so boil it, change the water when it gets yellow, boil it more and so on for as long as you can
It will help boiling it, but I have 3/4 large pieces in my 39 gal I boiled them twice. But after 10 weeks in the tank there is still a bit off yellowing to the water.:-((
