Bosemani rainbow fish lose color after tank light is turned on?

I have a pair of Bosemani rainbow fish that look beautiful when the natural sunlight is on them. But whenever i turn on my tank light their purple/blue color always fades to white or a barely visible blue. I went to my local fish store and they told me its probably my bulb in my light fixture and recommended i buy a coralife 50/50 10,000k bulb. So i bought it and installed it but my bosemani's still are not as purple as they are during the daytime with the natural sunlight. It helped a little bit but im thinking its just the fact that bulb emits a blue light. The water conditions are perfect, 29 gallon tank with 2 bosemanis and 2 australians. Is this the wrong bulb? Because i see dozens of youtube videos where they have their tank lights on and their rainbow fish have dazzling color. Please help! =(

all rainbow color's will not show if full light in aim at them from the top of your tank.

all rainbow need shade to truely show their color to the full extended. Providing shade such as full planted tank and floating plants will give your rainbow a chance to shade off and show off to each other. Ranibows don't like alot of lights.

Right now my rainbow looks dull not so much bright or shiny as they were cause they were in full light all the time on top.

I am ordering a couple of floating plants to justifi just that and give them a bit more security on top.
