I went to my local fish store to choose fish for my aquarium and they had a tank with bosemani rainboes, but they did not look as blue/yellow as the ones at other places do. Is this common and will change over time? I did not buy them, they looked a light green in coloration.

Mass breeding is a problem with finding a good batch. Typically in juvenile stage, and they all look like females. If cheap enough buy about 6 to 8 at a time if your tank is big enough. Better odds of finding a male. They're the colorful ones

as chuck said....rainbows are hard to find a good looking one its like gambling
