Last night I noticed my bristlenose pleco didn't look his normal shade of brown anymore. Instead he was more of an olive green with brown splotches all over. Just got home from work a little bit ago and when my lights came on he looked brown again, but after 5 min of the lights on he is splotchy olive green again! I know some species of plecos will change color as they age, but this is something different entirely. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

what spaces of bristle nose did u have?
I have a standard brown bristlenose pleco. Not longfin, albino or the orange variation. See photo below.

very nice....when direct sunlight hits my bristle nose, you can see its gold/yellow color coat..

so this might be what you are experiencing.

That would make sense as the coloring difference does seem most noticeable when I have my lights on full blast wen they first come one.
