Does anyone know what this might be? I have a newly dirted 15 gall fully planted and recently ive found this brown dust on the driftwood:

Also, can someone please tell me what a runner is? what plants have runners? and what to do with them?

Im not sure about the driftwood, but runners are new plants that shoot off of established plants' roots.

how can you differentiate them from the other stems?

They look like baby versions of the mother plant.

I'm not sure what the brown dust is, but i have it in my freshly dirted tank, just grab it with a vacuum next water change

alright will do, thanks man

I would say it is just detritus thats getting kicked up around the tank like someone else said just get it with the next water change. I have it collecting on my drift wood and anubias leaves in my axolotl tank.

By the way im new here, been watching dustins videos for a while. have a good one.
