HI, ive had a 28 long aquarium for 4 months now and am wondering why my plants dont grow bushly(?) I have a single 24 watt bulb that is 10,000k and dont understand why my plants are growing so slowly. I have fish, filter, etc. but im not getting much color or bushy growth out of them. Also, any suggestions for hardy bushy plants?

I have (i know this is a lot) but its 96 watt and thats a single bulb, so i think 7 hours a day is enough?? So thats why im wondering if i should just get some kind of pink bulb instead of another daylight bulb. I am also wondering if i have a good enough tank to maybe get stargrass or Rotala verticillaris??

Im probably going to sell the amazon sword becuase i think it might soon die because of the highlihgting(look at the pic to see how close it is to the glass cover.

Btw Thanks for all the help you've been giving me.

It's better to get white bulbs. Pink bulbs help enhance the color o fish and plants. And I'm pretty sure u can grow stargrass with ur light. Also ur amazon sword won't die it will trow out leaves that are adjusted for high light the same way they trow out diff leaves wen it's in low light conditions.

Ok, so the reason i brought up red bulbs in the first place was because i wanted to grow boht the green and  red version of Rotala verticillaris, so what you guys recommend that i do to successfully grow this plant without it dying. I want to get it i just want to make sure that i have everything necessary to grow it, like seachem products, etc.

Just cus the bulb is red doesn't mean ull grow red plants. Ei if u get blue bulbs u won't grow blue plants. Red plants required high iron and high light to keep them red.

So get the seachem iron supplement, any other recommendations for red plants?

Yes dose excel if ur not running co2

i have Co2 and today my ceramics teacher gave me 4 ponds of red clay :) I put little pits under the red combabas but i put it right under the roots is that what i was suppose to  do. and what should i monitor in m y tank, chemicaly wise ?

Sounds good to me.
