i might have the privlage soon to create a cichlid tank for my local zoo. what kinds of plants are super hardy, dont need too much care and wont be eaten by cichlids(all from africa). also, preferably ones on the cheep side. im only i high school student:l

you could try anubuis and java fern i have heard that that is hardy people have kept it with cichlid and goldfish so i must work try it out you could also try onion plants

I have not seen much plant in a African cichlids tank...

 

Anubis and plants that can be attach to driftwood or ock is your options

i know hornwort/ guppy grass. but idk if its from africa, and anubias and java fern.
Well I am experimenting with some plants in a tank with some cichlids right now. Java fern mostly and I threw some clippings from my community tank in there just to see what happens. But I also have a book that suggests Anubias spp., Crinum spp., Microsorum pteropus, and Vesicularia spp. as possible cohabitants with cichlids and similar aggressive fish. Good luck man.
