I'am curious how clams and substrate burrowing snails do with the dirted tank. Trying to plan my 55 gal using sand. If any one can drop some knowledge on me it would be appreciated!

Don't get clams for tanks with fish ever. I forget exactly how it works but when FW clams breed the larvae or babies are basically parasites to fish and will kill them off.

Good to know for sure. Im still curious if the snails burrowing into the substrate will stir up the tank and allow dirt from under the sand to escape.
And if that could cause problems.

I doubt it. Snails are part of natural planted tanks.

I'm also wondering about this. Specifically malaysian trumpet snails. :D
