Hi,

I just bought a new 29 gallon aquarium, and I'm thinking about livestock; fish. I know I want a mated pair of Veiltail Angelfish, a mated pair of German Blue Rams, 3 Otos, and cories. My question is about the species of corydoras that i want to buy. i want to buy 7-14 Dwarf Cories- C. hastatus, or C. hasbrosus. They both stay 1-1.4 inches in lenght, and i was wondeering if the Anelfish would eat them, especially with their record for neons. I know some people think that the tank will be overstocked, but with C. hastatus you can keep up to 15 in a 10 gallon aquarium, so... But anyway, any answer would be appreciated!

Thank you,
Hunter D.

Neons grow to a maximum of 1.2 inches and there are many fishkeepers that say that if neon tetras are added to a tank some time prior to the addition of the angelfish, the angels will not harass or eat the neons. However if there are any subsequent additions of new neon tetras, the new neons will surely be eaten and/or harassed by the angelfish. I wonder if the same thing will apply to the dwarf cories you mentioned above. Anyway, your best bet would be just to ensure that the angelfish are not hungry.

Good luck with your tank! :)

Thank you for the advice!!

You're welcome.
