just phoned the makers of the clay or the next best thing and all they could tell me was this "This clay is just paper fibers and water or mush the teracotta color is probably dye" haha
yeah they aint no ingredients on the package tho :(
yeah i got the same one as blade and i go it from michaels. Its like 10 bucks for a 5 pound box but just get the 40 or 50% of coupons from michaels that they have every week and its only like $5 :D
thats the one i been looking for with no look, will have use another iron source. to add to the substrate.. any ideas?
Just read "DAS Modeling Clay is mineral-based, non-toxic" so it should be good to go?
i added it to water just to see how it would react.. It turned to mush and spoiled the water.. I contacted the company and they said it's not real clay and is 100% artificially manufactured
here is the MSDS sheet
http://ssiucm.schoolspecialty.com/ucm/groups/public/@guestprodmsds/...
unfortunately it doesnt say what its contents are.
its not regular clay and has some sort of added fibers to make it not fall apart when it drys. it may be fine for your tank, but its not regular clay although its labeled as none toxic. whether or not its fish safe is a different story. I cannot say whether its good or not
Given the reply above and they say its possibly red dye, then you know its not good for your tank. I would try to purchase real red clay.
Thanks, I just found that. I figure it's not worth risking.
