Dirt convert help

I recently dirted my 29 gallon a week ago and it has shown no signed of clearing up and now there is a white looking film on some of the Eco complete I have as a cap.  What could I be doing wrong?

how often have you been doing water changes? i dirted my 15 gal on sunday and did two 100% water changes immediately after then 50% changes on each day after and now its mostly clear (ive had the filter running since after the two 100% changes).

I did a water change today and it helped a little, but I'll see if it stays that way tomorrow
