I have two dirt tanks, one with gravel (great) and one with sand) not so great). The sandy tank was capped about the same amount of the dirt, maybe a tad less but nothing too great in difference. The sandy tank, being messed around from air bubbles, happy corydoras, and plants, has a lot of dirt just sitting on top and collecting, looking pretty horrible. Plus the plants aren't even growing as fast as they are in the gravel tank.

What should I do? Just make that a sandy tank? Try again? The cories love the sand so I wouldn't want to get gravel.

Thanks!

Cories would be ok with gravel, just make sure to get gravel that is more rounded, no sharp edges.  Cories will injure their whiskers on sharp edges gravel while foraging for food.
i would use a plant substrate such as seachem flourite which comes in a sand variety. it will give you good plant growth and happy cory cats!
having the same problem..will talk about all this in my new vid and solutions
