The four t-12s use 32 watts more p/hr. That comes to about 2 one-hundredths of a penny p/hr more at the standard seven 7 1/2 cents per kilowatt. (cheaper in Canada.) So your losing a penny every 50 hours. That's about a penny every 4 to 7 days depending on how long the lights stay on. But, on the other hand, you're getting more lumens.

In conclusion your saving about 75 cents per year with the T-8s but getting a little less light.

You need about 20 lumens p/sq inch surface area; so you're ok there.
