Hi there. I am a pretty good discus expert. Actually that makes me think that i need to post a new video of my tanks lol. Anyways i am discus expert. So hit me up with some questions.

Hey Matt,

I'm running Chemi-pure Elite with Purigen in an Aquaclear 110 in my unplanted 55-gallon Discus tank.  I like what I see.  I've heard some say that carbon with Discus is not good. Any thoughts?

A little late there lol. But anyways, i have carbon with my discus are all is good :)

Hey sup homie if u need any help with your discus tank just hit me up peace out

i have a 36 planted bowfront, i wanna put a few discus in, is that too small? theres no other fish in it, running a fluval 206, with no carbon( i never use it).  my problem is i have VERY hard water. GH is 800+ and kh is around 250. (these are real numbers, i didnt misplace a decimal or anything) If i were to use peat in the last basket, where my carbon is supposed to go, would that lower my ph and keep it down? how often would it need changing? My water is 8.2 outta the tap. i also have a decent sized piece of mopani in the tank. I have yet to test the PH, its only been running for a week. would RO water be my best bet?

Sorry but a 36 is too small for discus. Maybe you can do angelfish

i have bigger tanks, thats not really an issue, im more worried about the water conditions

36 gallon is not to small for discus but u can only have two or three and have carbon for discus suck I think the peat stuff little bit better, and what u should use to clear your tap water is prime that stuff is best for discus and what to keep your Ph low is some stuff call discus buffer it keep the Ph around 7.0 to 6.5 it say it can go low as 5.8 but I never got that close . The close I got it was 6.2 and last thing waterchage when u have a small tank under 60 gallon u should do WC every three or four days of a five gallon bucket because Ph or the ammonia can raise fast in small tank then a lager tank so hopeful I help u with your tank and if u any Q just hit me up peace out home
