does the output current direction affect any of the plants?

hey fishtank people, i was just looking for some input on how the placement of your spray bar may affect the growth or health of the plants? i have a heavily planted 40 and the spraybar is placed horizontally on the top of the back of the tank, and one of my plants is starting to wear away. i dont know if its just not a ral aquatic plant or what. i found it in a swampy part of allaire state park in nj, its growin goog but idk if the spray is too strong? just dont wanna ruin any other plants by moving it.

I thought I'd offer my experience and thoughts on the matter since no one else has chimed in as of yet. I've never used anything except HOBs myself, so that may affect the validity of my answer. However, I've been concerned in much the same way with the 'waterfalls' cascading into my tanks from my filters at the surface. I haven't actually seen the increased flow damage or melt any of my plants, but it may perhaps stunt them or cause them to grow at strange angles. I noticed some of my stem plants effected in this way--wisteria and moneywort mostly. It was as if they were trying to grow around the current. Anyway, for the moment, the only solution I've found is to move any tall-growing or fragile plants away from the area.

How would it ruin your other plants? Move it. See what happens. I think Ace might be onto something.

thanks guys, i actually just swapped my fluval with my other eheim canister, its alittle weaker and aimed it a different way, ill see how this works, thanks for the input
