Dollarama Clay?

Dustin said that clay is a great additive in any aquarium. I'd love to buy some from him but shipping up to where I live would make purchasing from him impractical. 

I have seen modeling clay at a few dollarstores in my area. Would it be ok if I used one of those clays instead?

unfired? it's just normal clay.... It is dyed. I guess I can't use it... Any idea where I can get unfired clay?
