Recently, my half-marbled angelfish has had a problem with it's mouth. It suddenly turned pale and bony, and it's mouth is immobile. When I feed my fish, it spazzes out and shakes around to try to open his mouth. I don't want it to spread, and want to treat it, as its my favorite.

Read my blog called sickly angles on my page. My angels were a little different in symptoms, but I saved them by putting them in a hospital tank with salt, melafix, basic fish antibiotics and a temp around 90*F for about two weeks and they pulled threw; and look better then ever. I used about a tablespoon of salt for ten gallons, did at least a 50% water change a day, and kept the salt and antibioctic levels constant for the two weeks; and feed them small amounts. I used the melafix just because I had some. I think the salt, temp, and antibiotics is what saved them. I believe that a freshwater disease will not live too long with salt. The amount of salt that I used wont hurt angles at all. Raising the temp will boost the angels immune system.

Hope my situation can shed some light on whats happing to your angel. Good luck.

Thanks, but I can't disease or whatever it is anywhere, but to try to save my angel I'll do anything.

The disease has spread already, and I don't have enough room for 2, and it has gotten worse on the half-marble, can't/won't eat.

how sad =(

My platinum-gold died this morning, and it is not covering the half-marbled angel mouth and has spreaded to the eyes, and the pimafix I got is not working, but my corydoras just bred, so obviously it is not spreading, but I've had a cory mouth problem, killing 2 males.

Did they have red streaks near their mouths?

No, all cottoney stuff. Half-back departed yesterday):, and I ment the cotton stuff has NOW spread to the eyes, not not.

Could be fungus take out any fish like this and quarantine them in a separate tank. Best to make a tank or of whatever your have available. put in a small heater, bubble filter or air stone, and use malachite blue . Leave them there took they are better feeding as needed and changing water often due to malachite blue kills all bacteria
