OK so I'm hoping to get a tank for Christmas and if i did get one i need the tank cycled to the point that i could keep rams, angels and tetras. i have one aqua clear 50 with media in another tank that is cycled, some hardy fish that i will buy and 5 gallons of cycled water every two weeks. i need the tank cycled in under a week because i want the tank to have all the final fish in before school starts one week after Christmas.

add fish slowly and use the water from your other tank as it is mature  too

anybody else?

Haha anybody else?
Well I would use media from an already established tank. Look into using pure ammonia to start a fishless cycle. I've never done it but have heard it works quickly. Basically you want ammonia to feed the beneficial bacteria so instead of using fish food or some other product to get ammonia over time you put pure ammonia in the tank and the bacteria instantly have food. You must still wait until you get some nitrate reading but this method shaves a few days off. Like I said do some more research but if you want speed this is probably worth a try.

its going take some week/months..lol

he wants it fast and my method is the way to go

It's not going to happen in a week. Patients is required.

How big is your current tank and the new one going to be.  Put media from the existing filter and fill the new tank up with water from the existing tank.  Instant cycle.  Add a lot of fast growing plants too.  They will soak up any ammonia before it becomes harmful to the fish.  Also could try Bio-Spira Safe Start.  Have heard it works.

my current tank is 25 gallons. im pretty sure that the new tank is going to be a 55 gallon.
