My fish are keep dying in the dirted tank. I teated the water couple of daysvago and everything was 0 except ph was 6.5. Lfs saysvthat dont do big water changes as its affecting the ph. What is going weong most of the fish are gone already and i am having one fush die every day.

The second thing, i am having white kind a jelly on the glass after upgrading the light to dual t5.

Please advise what to do.

Thanks

Bro your screwed !!!!!!!!

Just kidding man did you cycle your tank and do you have snails ? that could be white jelly like stuff when they lay eggs and what not on the glass as for the fish dying in the dirted tank . Did you try pre soaking you dirt before you capped it with gravel or sand ? If not you might have gases stuck under your dirt in bubbles which can be toxic !

lol, Thanks for the reply.

The tank is running for three years before I dirt the tank. I have small snails in the tank which i am picking up or may be remove them with a snail trap.

I think I did the mistake when i dirt the tank. I did not soak the dirt before capping it with the gravel because i followed a youtube video tutorial on Walsted Method and the guy did not soak the dirt before putting in the tank. I poked the dirt and most of the bubbles are released then i change the water. I placed the crushed coral in the filter and ph is now 7.2. The LFS says the water is good now with 0 NH3/NH4, 0 NO2 and 0 NO3. The Ph was 7.2 and KH was 2.

I added few Platies and they are still alive with old black tetra. Plants growth is great. I am planning to put Pressurized co2 soon in both tanks.
