How many fishes can I have in a 30long heavenly planted tank? At the moment I have 23 small fishes. 3 rainbows, 11 southern platties (small),2 golden ballon rams, 3 golden rams, 2 German electra rams,1 ballon ram and a German blue ram. Non exceeding 2inches,the plants and size allows less traffic.

Go by the inch per gallon rule. So if ur total is 30 gallons or 30 inches of fish start there. Remeber substrate an plants reduce water volume to like maybe 28g maybe a bit less. So if 12 of ur 23 fish are 2inches the. Thats 24. 30- 24=6 inches to spare but u have 11 fish at 1 inch soo 6-11= -5 making ur tank be at 35 inches of fish in a 30g tank. Basically ur already overstocked. U should think of removing fish instead of adding. Or upgradin to a 50g
Thank you for the key pointers. I've taken out 3 fishes to allow more room for the time being ( their fine ). A 55 will do. So far so gd though. Thank u
