Fish for 20 Gallon High

Hi, I want some suggestions for a 20 gallon high tank. It's gonna hopefully be heavily planted. So any suggestions would be welcome. Im thinking of leaning more towards a community tank. So, do you guys think it would be fine if I had a couple semi-aggressive fish as well? Example: Dwarf Gouramis.

I have a 20 high, I have a neon blue dwarf gourami, neon tetra, and julli cory cats, I also have some snails

I was thinking 6 neon tetras, 2 honey gouramis, and 4 panda corys. And possibly some snails or shrimp.

Woah actually the German Blue Rams look awesome. How many could I keep if I replaced the honey gouramis?! Dude those German Blue Rams are so freaking awesome.

I heard the German Blue Rams are really delicate and need soft slightly acidic water, are they really that hard to take care of. And will the other fish I mentioned be okay in soft slightly acidic water?

Im sorry Im asking a lot of questions. I just wanna get this right and not kill any fish. Im new to keeping fish. All i have are just plain old goldfish in a 40 gallon. So yeah.
