Hey ya,
I guess I'm a newbie I've been slowly building my dream system for about a year now I slowly put away some cash and then buy pieces when I find good sales & coupons to keep my obsession on the cheap.
My dreams aren't as huge as some others I've just wanted to put a 55 in my bedroom for a few years now and I finally started taking the steps to do just that. I'm a fan of larger scale fancy goldfish and have been following Solid Gold on youtube for awhile now for she seems to have a great of love for them as as much as I do.
Anyways I am always researching and reading and reading reviews on youtube from other Aquarium lovers and came across Pectec on youtube as well and I really started to love his tanks and the low maintenance of his systems and following his reviews on products for I have been shopping for a new tank for my Betta "Captain Obvious" and was kind of sold on the Fluval line of tanks. I am sort of a obsessive house plant lover and I've never really thought of doing plants in a tank and then thought why not? Combine my love of fish and plants together. The more I watched Pectec the more confidence I had in thinking of trying one of these small scale systems myself and then...
I somehow got linked into Dustin's fish tanks and sort of got trapped in the net that is that man's crazy. LOL I swear I was like - in my best southern accent - "That boy is a lunatic" and may very well be having a online romance with a Anubias but you really can't resist his excitement over the hobby and then you find yourself watching endless amounts of his videos just trying to take it all in.
And then it happened I think I was in a species Sunday vid and I got seduced by a "Crinum Calamistratum" and found myself thinking "Yessss... that is one sexy plant" Then you find yourself at 2 in the morning pondering Fluval Edge wandering the kitchen going "Word up fish tank people! Fishtanktvdotcom" in the kitchen with your dog staring at you like you've finally lost your mind lol and pretty much at this point you have so you have no other choice then to join the group.
Now I find myself in a dangerous position everyday I'm walking past a brand new 55 on a stand and a Fluval FX6 and a mountain of supplies sitting in a boxes waiting for me to make up my mind which direction I'm going to take lol. So yeah Hi I'm a Goldfish fan and a soon to be planted tank newbie. :D
