good social, community, smart, small, cichlid for a 29gallon??

Like the question says I'm looking for a cichlid (maybe a pair depending on the size) that's generally smart and social (comes over to. tank glass w
hen get near)but it also has to be generally small . No bigger than like 7" probly as it beacause it has to fit in my 29 gallon tank
I also want to have other fish so It has to leave room for that and get along with the other fish.
If you have any suggestions please place them below!!! And if you'd had any experience with them tell me that also.

Rams and apistos fit that description. Do you mean 7" for a pair? Because I don't think a 7" fish is suitable for a 29.

Do you know where I could buy some rams? I've tried looking at petsmart and PETCO and so far have found nothing..

Check small local fish stores. Even if they don't have any most can order them. Always support your lfs instead of petco/smart.

look into apistogramma...

big attitude just like a cichlid,smart but very peaceful with all community fish..max at 3".

Thanks. I just don't know where to but any of these cichlids though.ill have to see if theres a fish store close by..but I've never seen one. Any of you guys know of a trusted online store??
