gravel should be very easy if tank is small to medium size...

1. put most of your fish/plant/decor into tank water with bucket or container

2. Don't forget to turn off your heater and filter

3. You can use a larget net or use one of those drain scooper...idk wat they call them and scoop the gravel out while the water id drain back into the tank.

Just do this until you get all of them out ...there might be small pieces which you can remove manually or vac it up

4. Keep a bag of your gravel in tank water so you can use it to help create good bacterial incase of spike

5. Add your sand (must be wash before hand)

6. Wait and let the sand settle

7. If everything looks good...add ur decor and run your filter and heater

8..add fish

thank you very much for the information...i'll let you know how it turns out
