Help aquascape a 6 gal rimless

I've got this fluval edge that I decapitated. I'm going to use fluval stratum/ black sand as sub. The problem I'm having is that I've never actually aquascaped before. I have several natural planted tanks that kind just took on their own scape and I've never done anything this small. Any ideas. Wood, plants, fish???

Check out this vid for some insparation http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=relmfu&v=UJcN3fuRFpA but u will be limited on ur fish due to the small size
