Hey Carlos,

Dirt substrate tanks will do you better in the long run, they provide loads of nutrients for the plants, but its just a lot more work to start off with.

Have you watched any videos about dirt tank conversions? I have a video series showing what to do, first video here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd2f5RzPwSo&feature=channel_vide...

I would also highly recommend that you visit the FAQ, http://fishtanktv.com/page/faq, and  read this article about dirt tank conversions, it will contain all the info that you need. http://fishtanktv.com/forum/topics/dirt-convert-how-to-set-up-you

You should be able to get the miracle grow organic soil from your local garden centre, you may have to shop around depending on where you live. And Fluval have recently come out with the Flora Mini CO2 system. Its dirt cheap 'pardon the pun', but it is best for use in a small tank. You can even use a fire extinguisher if you need a lot of CO2.

Any more questions just ask,

Chris.

I'm running low tech and even have Dwarf Baby Tear growing.  The danger with high tech is your going to have to do a lot of pruning and clipping.  It's a great choice though.  The system I want down the road is PH controlled as well as timer.  It's the safest system you can consider but they run about $400 for the entire kit without the CO2 tank.
