I dirted my 55 gallon tank two weeks ago and have seen minimal growth. I'm wondering how long it takes for the roots to get down into the dirt and for it to get established? Should I be worried yet or am I paranoid? Here are the facts:

55 gallon with 1.5" dirt w/clay bits, capped with 1" sand and 2" Eco complete gravel.

120 watts of lighting for apprx 2watts per gallon

DIY CO2 and an airstone for the fishies

Plants include Water Sprite, Water Wisteria, Red Cryptocoryne Wendtii, dwarf sword, red tiger lotus and java fern (which doesn't really apply to my question).

give it a while cause u have alot of gravel and sand cap..
Maybe I should take some gravel out? I'm worried that the algae will start in before the plants can take hold real well.
naa..i would leave it be..better root growth later on
