How much iron should I use?

I am currently dosing aquariumfertilzer.com micro/macro dry ferts (I think the iron is around 6%). I was able to get 2 bottles of Kent Marine Super Chelated Iron and magnesium (it has about 24% iron)for $2. I am currently EI dosing, but I want me plants to be redder. Does anybody know a safe way to dose the two without hurting my plants and fish. Aslo I don't have an iron tester so I don't know the current level of iron in my tank.
