Hey guys just looking for any tips anyone has at avoiding plant damage via filter intakes and filter flow. Also if anyone has any tips on hiding filters or any other aquarium equipment without having significant plant damage that would be greatly appreciated.

for the intake to protect shrimp and fry I wrap a green pad around the tub and tie it off. it helps with blending it with the plants. as far as anything else all I can suggest is make sure you plant hardy plants that wont tear from being sucked up and plants that like heavy water flow by the outlet.
get prefilter foam intake to help the leaves from getting inside the intake and if you have flow control on ur filter...slow it down
ive got water wisteria growing infront of my filter somtimes gets sucked up but water wisteria loves current 25 gallon tank with 200 gph filters, water wisteria grows like a weed
I have never really had a problem. I have crypt spiralis is fron of my filter.  Some of the dead stuff will get sucked onto the intake, but it has never been a problem.  I also have my intake very close to the gravel, which may help as well.
