Look at my tank there, i would like to convert it to sand.

What would the effects be?!

Tell me everything you know.

Sand is fine to use.  Many plants with smaller more fibrous roots do better in sand (or dirt) than in gravel in my opinion.  Just make sure you disturb the sand every once in a while or get snails or clams to do it.  Roots don't take in CO2, leaves do.

Also your fish are not rams at all.  They are Pelvichromis pulcher or Rainbow Kribensis.

Good - my red tiger lotus is doing AWESOME in my super natural white sand!

Bad - Non so far!

same, i bought supernatural sand for my ten gallon and in about 2 months a few of my plants have almost doubled in size. I think it would depend on if you get actual sand or a type of sand like substrate.
