Alright, so i got 4 platies for my 40 gal on thursday. They were all fine then but now one is showing signs of ich (she is glancing off rocks, not swimming so well). So i just put her in a quarantine tank by herself. I do not want to risk an ich outbrake but it might already be in my water. I cant get to a pet store tonight but tomorrow for sure. I have 2 airstones running and i bumped the temperature up to 85 F. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time/should she be quarantined?

Thanks!

It could also be gill flukes. Check for white spots before making the diagnosis.

All tanks have ich. But once a fish gets over it they generally become immune. Its like the measles - you can only get it once. In the meantime, I think you're doing the right thing.

Alright, Thanks. I bought some ich treatment anyways but have not put it in the tank. All my fish are still alive and i dont see any white spots. So ill wait and see! Thanks for the advice!

i got the medicine called mardel coppersafe its suppose too treat the water for a month and iadded aquarium salt and cure my fishh

it treats ich velvet and other external parasites
