Is okay to put a metal halide in 10 gallon tank for 1 hour alist?

I just found out the one of my mom's lamps has a metal halide bulb!! So I was thinking taking my betta out of the tank and putting the metal halide lamp for alist a hour a day so my plant grow faster, it's 300w, I'm afraid that it would kill my plants so what yah think guys. My tank has 5500k bulb that's why I want to try this idea
