Is the bristlenose pleco, oto cat, or SAE eating my jungle val?

Fishtank people, help!

Anyone know which of the above fish could be eating my jungle val?

One of them is sucking the film off the jungle val layer by layer.

Let me know your wisdom before I have to resort to taking each one out and then waiting to see if the plants are still getting eaten.

They are my prime suspects.

The only other fish I have are neon tetras, green cory cat, fancy tail guppies, white molly, zebra danio

Thank you for any insights!

I'd guess nutrient deficiency before any of those critters.
Yea I would say the same
I have the same fish in my tank with 2 types of Val (Jungle and Corkscrew) and I have never seen them eating it, nor I have seen any damage caused by fish on them. I would also have to agree on a deficiency or maybe you have the crown buried too deep in the substrate causing it to die off looking like fish damage?

I have a Bristlenose pleco too and it never seems to hurt any of my plants.

Thanks for the insights.

Maybe I have buried it too low.  I put it in an inch or at least half an inch deep into the substrate.

The interesting thing is some of the stalks on the jungle val are fine but then others part of the same stem or whatever you call it have spots that look eaten.  There are actual long holes in the center of the jungle val.  I thought the whole strand would decay top to bottom or bottom to top and not in certain spots.

There will be an inch or hal inch long holes on top 6 inches from the base and then 13 inches from the base.

If this all does sound like deficiency let me know what it might be...iron?

It wouldn't be current would it?  My outflow is blowing on the jungle val.

Probably K deficiency

oto cats will most likely be innocent, plecos are known for eating plants, no mater what the species, and the SAE... well so far I have not had any trouble with mine

it'd probably be easier for the pros to identify with pictures

brittle nose plecos have a reputation for eating plants
