It's that time of year again Lets get ready with Fall and Winter coming

So everyone knows fall is a dialing down point for the ponds. You need to get the leaves out of prevent them from entering your ponds. They can Decay next spring and really crash your ponds leading to ammonia nitrite and nitrate spikes.

So what do i do?

It's not really that complicated you just need to do a few things

  1. You need To either keep getting the leaves out of prevent them from entering your pond.
  2. For the winter time you need to feed your carp a type of food with wheat germ so they have enough fat for the winter months.
  3. Also if your pond isn't deep enough Bring them in.
  4. Some people let their ponds freeze over and its possible with a lightly stocked pond but if you have a heavy stocked pond like me you need to keep the pond open so air can escape and enter the pond
  5. Finally you need to do a 50% water change right before the water starts to freeze. This way your just cleaning out your pond and helping it through the winter because a lot of biological bacteria will die off

Here are some short videos on showing you how to get your pond ready for the winter!!
